[ARCHIVED] Stream Advisory Issued for Rattlesnake Creek in Stafford County

Stream Avisory Graphic

Residents and animals should not enter the water at this time

The Kansas Department of Health and Environment (KDHE) has issued a stream advisory for Rattlesnake Creek in Stafford County from 80th Ave to the Little Salt Marsh on September 13, 2023.

The stream advisory is the result of a release of produced water and crude oil from oil and gas production.

Elevated contaminants, including chlorides, may be present in Rattlesnake Creek.

KDHE will rescind the advisory once the stream is deemed safe for secondary (wading) contact and livestock use.

For further information, please contact Wade Kleven by email.
