Stream Advisory Rescinded for Slate Creek and the confluence of Sand Creek located near Newton

Stream Advisory Rescinded

The Kansas Department of Health and Environment (KDHE) has rescinded a stream advisory for Slate Creek and the confluence of Sand Creek located near Newton, Kansas, that was issued on January 9, 2023. Water samples show no health risk associated with the stream. Water contact in the stream is now deemed safe and if you live or have activities near this stream, you may enter the stream and you can allow children and pets to enter the stream.
