  • Behavioral Risk Factor Surveillance System - Behavioral Risk Factor Surveillance System (BRFSS) which is coordinated and partially funded by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the BRFSS is the largest continuously conducted a telephone survey in the world. It is conducted in every state, the District of Columbia, and several US territories. Kansas conducts the BRFSS survey annually.
  • Community Health Status Indicators - Community Health Status Indicators (CHSI) provides an overview of key health indicators for local communities and to encourage dialogue about actions that can be taken to improve a community´s health. The CHSI report contains over 200 measures for each of the 3,141 United States counties. The data used to construct the Community Health Status Indicators (CHSI) were obtained from a variety of federal agencies including the Department of Health and Human Services, Environmental Protection Agency, Census Bureau, and Department of Labor. The data reported are publicly available data.

  • Kansas Center for Community Economic Development - Kansas Center for Community Economic Development (KCCED) purpose is to extend the application of university expertise in economic development and reinforce local capacities for advancing economic development among Kansas communities.   • Kansas Rural Health Works - Kansas Rural Health Works (KRHW) is a resource dedicated to helping rural communities build affordable and sustainable local health care systems. KRHW is funded through the Federal Office of Rural Health Policy (ORHP). KRHW has expanded public awareness of the importance of the economic impact of the health care sector and to stress health care´s critical role in rural development. KRHW has provided information to support local decision-makers in rural communities to become proactive and intricately involved in planning and supporting their local health systems. The ultimate objective has been to maintain local health care services, including critical access hospitals, to result in healthier rural communities and economies.

  • Kids Count - Kids Count is a joint project of the Annie E. Casey Foundation and Kansas Action for Children which provides statistical data on the education, health, and economic well-being of Kansas children and their families. Utilizing KIDS COUNT data allows policymakers and community leaders to make data-driven decisions that will provide a better future for our state´s youngest citizens.

  • Maternal and Child Health State Needs Assessment of Kansas - The Maternal and Child Health State Needs Assessment of Kansas is a five year needs assessment identify the priority needs for the maternal and child health population. This assessment lays out the top priorities for this population. Referred to as MCH2025, the current covers the period of federal fiscal years 2021 to 2025 (October 1, 2020 through September 30, 2025). Updates to this assessment are provided each year as part of the Title V MCH Services Block Grant and guides the development of the 5-Year Title V/MCH State Action Plan.
