Kansas Clean Air Act Advisory Group

Purpose

The Bureau of Air provides the opportunity for stakeholder and public input into the policies and procedures of the air program through periodic meetings of the Kansas Clean Air Act Advisory Group (CAAAG). The goal of the CAAAG is to serve as a forum for stakeholders to provide input to the Bureau regarding program legislation, regulations, policies and procedures.

Background

The CAAAG evolved from meetings held by the Bureau in late 1992 when soliciting stakeholder input for the operating permit program that resulted from Title V of the 1990 amendments to the Clean Air Act.

Membership

Participants include:

  • Government agencies
  • Permit holders
  • Public interest groups

Persons interested in becoming members of the CAAAG should contact Linda Vandevord. The mailing address is for CAAAG is:

Meetings

The Group meets at least twice yearly if budget allows. Meetings of the CAAAG provide the opportunity for Bureau staff to provide up-to-date information to participants on:

  • New regulations
  • Policies and procedures
  • Finances
  • Bureau organization
  • Statewide compliance with the national ambient air quality standards

Most important, however, is the opportunity for participants to provide feedback to Bureau representatives on the topics presented.
