Environmental Data & Projects

The Environmental Data and Projects section within the Bureau of Air is responsible for a variety of database systems and unique projects. This group is responsible for database systems that include the Kansas Environmental Information Management System (KEIMS) and the Kansas State and Local Emissions Inventory System (SLEIS). These two systems comprise nearly all of the environmental data that is submitted to the bureau from our regulated community.

  • Assurance that the bureau complies with federal and divisional Title VI laws and guidance;
  • Environmental Justice issues related to ambient air quality pollution are addressed;
  • Data-related Kansas Open Records Act (KORA) requests are fulfilled;
  • Assistance with bureau-wide quality improvement, technology, and other special projects.
