State Health Assessment & Improvement Plan

Healthy Kansans ask: What Are the Top Health Issues in Our State?

With the recent release of Healthy People 2030, KDHE is preparing to engage Kansans in a new collaborative process to identify and address the current leading health challenges in our state. The resulting state health assessment (SHA) and state health improvement plan (SHIP) will be informed by the national Healthy People framework and will be known as Healthy Kansans 2030. Updates on the current process will be included.

Photo Voice Project

Help us visualize health in Kansas. We are seeking photos that answer one or both questions:

  • What does healthy living look like in your Kansas community?
  • What makes it easy or hard to stay healthy in your everyday environment?

To get started, review the FAQs, supporting documents and photo entry details:

Up to three entries can be submitted by April 15. A panel of KDHE staff and the HK2030 project team will review and judge each entry. Winners will be notified by April 29 and will receive print credit in the report.
