Adequacy of Prenatal Care Utilization

Adequacy of Prenatal Care Utilization (APNCU) report uses birth certificate information to determine if a mother received an adequate number of prenatal visits to her doctor. This index is based on the number of visits and when prenatal care started. The index's categories of care are inadequate, intermediate, adequate or adequate plus. Natality / Birth

The Natality Report provides statistics for Kansas resident live births for race and Hispanic origin. Indicators include maternal age, education level, marital status, adequacy of prenatal care, primary pay source, WIC service utilization, gestational age and birth weight. These indicators are examined among population groups by normal birth outcomes and by a summary measure of poor birth outcomes. Pre-2016 reports can be viewed from the following year selections.
