Injuries and violence are major public health issues and have significant impact on the well-being of Kansans. Injuries and violence cross all boundaries and can affect anyone, regardless of age, sex, race or socioeconomic background.
While injury and violence have a significant burden, they are also largely preventable. Data collection is the first step in the public health approach with accurate information being the key to directing, designing, implementing and evaluating injury and violence prevention efforts.
Please use the Kansas Unintentional Injury State Action Plan Dashboard which highlights data used for development of the 2021 to 2025 Kansas Unintentional Injury Prevention Plan (PDF).
